Title: Gavin Harrison's "Rhythmic Visions" book/DVD Post by: jmichael on July 08, 2005, 01:50 PM I've been thinking of picking up Gavin Harrison's Rhythmic Visions Book/DVD and was wondering if anyone has worked on it?
I've done some of his displacement exercises and such and find them fascinating. One thing I'm wondering is if I will end up with a book that will teach me awesome exercises that will be difficult to incorporate into band rehearsal without getting stuff thrown at me! :) Secondly, I realize that not everything he has will be able to be used in all situations. I was just wondering in general, has anyone been able to grasp the concepts, and if so has it helped your playing? Yes he is. And if you have the chance to see him playing live - go there under all circumstances. I've seen him doing a workshop in Munic - simply unbelieveable. Evertime when I am in a music-shop I grab his book and think about buying it. But I'm not shure if there is a chance to figure out this stuff :-\ |
