Title: Flamenco hand/foot Rhythms
Post by: Nathan on January 24, 2006, 03:00 PM
I would like to use some of the Flamenco style hand clap and foot stomp rhythms in a piece i'm working on, but I don't know much about it.  I began some preliminary research into the topic, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any discs, books, or websites explaining the technique and rhythms involved.

Thanks
Nathan

I am not aware of any books or videos that will help you with this particular aspect of Flamenco.

My suggestion is to continue your research via the Internet and your local library ... and do as much listening as you possibly can. This is what I did and what I still do when I want to learn something new, especially if there is no teachers available on the topic.

There are a lot of Flamenco DVDs available which demonstrate and show performances by Flamenco guitarists and dancers. Watch, learn and listen to as much as you can. I think you'll be able to glean exactly what you need to use in your own compositions and performances.
