Hey guys. I REALLY REALLY wanna know what snare Steve Jordan is using in his Groove is Here DVD. He uses a few throughout the dvd but the one I wanna get sounds like brass and looks to be white/silver colour. To clarify, its the one he uses in the section with a click track. I thought it may be a David Garibaldi snare, but with a different colour finish, but then I thought its too deep for the model??!! Please help me! Cheers guys

It's an old Ludwig wood 3 x 13" piccolo.
I have the alloy version which is slightly rare, but you often see the wood version on Ebay. They aren't too expensive.

Thanks for that. I'm suprised to learn its only 3" deep, it look ed more like 4" to me. Is it brass? I'm just thinking if I can't get hold of the one you've got, what my best alternative is. Garibaldi??

It's wood, with a silver sparkle wrap.
I've only ever seen one other alloy version.........but then, as I already own one, I don't go out of my way looking for them.
The wood versions (Ludwig Keystone, from the 60's I think, possibly earlier) crop up on Ebay all the time and are reasonably priced (no more than $300 last time I looked).
If you want that sound, I would just watch Ebay and wait for a 3 x 13" Keystone Ludwig to come along.
I think it would be a better buy than a new drum that might not sound the same.
