Title: Steve Jordan dvd...snare drum Post by: chrisd333drum on December 19, 2006, 05:06 AM Hey guys. I REALLY REALLY wanna know what snare Steve Jordan is using in his Groove is Here DVD. He uses a few throughout the dvd but the one I wanna get sounds like brass and looks to be white/silver colour. To clarify, its the one he uses in the section with a click track. I thought it may be a David Garibaldi snare, but with a different colour finish, but then I thought its too deep for the model??!! Please help me! Cheers guys

I have the alloy version which is slightly rare, but you often see the wood version on Ebay. They aren't too expensive. I'm just thinking if I can't get hold of the one you've got, what my best alternative is. Garibaldi??
Title: Re: Steve Jordan dvd...snare drum Post by: Chris Whitten on December 19, 2006, 03:33 PM It's wood, with a silver sparkle wrap.
I've only ever seen one other alloy version.........but then, as I already own one, I don't go out of my way looking for them. The wood versions (Ludwig Keystone, from the 60's I think, possibly earlier) crop up on Ebay all the time and are reasonably priced (no more than $300 last time I looked). If you want that sound, I would just watch Ebay and wait for a 3 x 13" Keystone Ludwig to come along. I think it would be a better buy than a new drum that might not sound the same.
