Title: Zoom H4 Post by: Nuclear on May 14, 2007, 03:50 PM Hey all,
Was looking at the Zoom H4 to use for recording, but I also need something to do high quality hand-held interviews for Bentley's website. Does anyone have any experience with this device? In particular, I was wondering if the condensers will be too sensitive for hand-held use. I don't want noise in my artist sound bites. Any other recommendations would also be appreciated. JK ;D I have one. I like it. BUT the controls are tiny as all getout and I worry about the cheap plastic construction. The transfer to your computer is slow. Sound is very good. We record all practices and gigs with it. The 4 track seems almost worthless though. The condensers are very hot, maybe too hot for handheld unless you are like a statue (comes with tripod mount that works). Automatic gain control which is nice though and would be good for you in the field. Editing software is ok but be prepared to upgrade *pay dough* to compress to Mp3. BS move by zoom and steinberg (cubase LE). Title: Re: Zoom H4 Post by: Dave Heim on May 14, 2007, 08:37 PM I just bought one. It comes with a tripod mount that you attach with little Velcro straps. Just mount it on one of those little table-top tripods. Easy, and no hand-held noise!
