Title: Percussion Ensemble Music
Post by: narninian on December 12, 2002, 07:48 PM
Im starting a percussion ensemble at the college I attend. I am mostly ok with music, but we are probably going to end up performing(the same nights and venues as) the college choir. As a nice addition I would like to find some music that we could play jointly, anybody have suggestions on a sheet music place online where I might find some music like this?

I just recently performed a movement called "Cantate Domino" with a university choir.  It's quite nice.  Two marimbas and two percussion parts, as well as the possibility of piano and bass and strings.  We actually did a scaled down version with one player doing a marimba arrangement of the two marimba parts, and one percussion part, so it's not necessary to have every single instrument covered.

The piece comes from an entire work called Cantate 2000, and  the other movements include percussion as well.  The author is Jackson Berkey, and the publisher is SDG press.

Regards,
bing
