Title: Thank you for DC Post by: New York Frank on April 11, 2008, 12:35 PM I have to say again: Thank You For the DC.
I made the mistake :) of stumbling over to another forum after seeing a good player perform on ustream. I notice several familiar names over there. :) But, the quantity of Babble there is so high, that I'm almost ready to check out. I'm very grateful to have a real home for productive, fun Drumming dialog - Babble-free. 8) Long live the DC. Title: Re: Thank you for DC Post by: Chip71 on April 11, 2008, 01:05 PM I have to say again: Thank You For the DC. Yep, I've checked out other forums and came back to the DC gang. Didn't take long to find out what I liked. Less trash talk and better people. I'm with you on that decision. What got me was the fact that I've met a few DC people, they're just as nice in person as on the site. :)Long live the DC. I have been visiting and posting on several other drum forums, eight other forums to be exact. The reason? Trying to reach out to others and find out what other communities are up to. There's one, maybe two of those forums that I care to continue visiting. My goodness people are just plain ugly, mean and flat out rude to each other! One site, I tried to give a chance but couldn't take it; tried to delete the membership but alas it was a no go. Rather than focus on all the crap ... let me just say how thankful I am for the Drummer Cafe. All of you are great and really make my time here a pleasant experience. All of the posts, comments, debates and arguments that transpire here are simply a breath of fresh air. The majority of the other forums make me feel like I have a 50lb weight on my chest. Who needs the stress?! Thank you all for all of your contributions ... AND ... thank you for having a thankful, grateful heart when it comes to this site and community. Title: Re: Thank you for DC Post by: Loubuntu on May 11, 2008, 12:24 AM I discovered this forum quite recently and for what its worth ... I enjoy it a lot ... a great platform with a group of fun, modest, knowledgeable, helpful and civilized users (a rare breed). And of course a special thanks to Bart for all the time and effort he puts into this virtual community. Keep it up.
Title: Re: Thank you for DC Post by: Hannah Ford on May 11, 2008, 01:48 PM Just recently Bart and I had a lengthy conversation about the content of some of the other forums and how disrespectful and crude they can be. I'm sure if any of you have spent time browsing through them you may have seen some of the same nonsense that I have...some of it even a bit personal. (I'll stop there) I consider the source and move forward.
What reading the garbage does for me however, is solidify my decision to be part of the DC family, where I know I can not only contribute from time to time but can ALWAYS be sure to receive good information. In addition I can refer ANYONE of ANY AGE at any LEVEL here and know without a doubt they will get good information in a respectable format. Maturity and respect, combined with great musicians sharing their knowledge with those of us who so eagerly desire it. That's AWESOME! Thank you DC....thanks Bart. Title: Re: Thank you for DC Post by: amoacristo on May 11, 2008, 02:10 PM I don't go to any other forums at all anymore and don't plan on it in the future. The DC is great. Nothing compares to it.

That's a biggie! Title: Re: Thank you for DC Post by: Louis on May 11, 2008, 05:58 PM Now it's MY turn to say THANK YOU! My goodness people are just plain ugly, mean and flat out rude to each other! Back in July of 2002, yes, 2002 I was ready to give up on online music forums specifically for the reasons above but then I discovered the Drummer Cafe and I am glad I did. Saying I love this place is not enough! Thank you Bart for making the Cafe available. |
