Title: Clear vs Coated Heads Post by: The Architect on April 20, 2008, 11:13 AM I've been pondering a switch to clear tom heads. I think the clear heads would be a bit more resonant and possibly have a bit more low end.

The same head in coated should have more warm tones than in clear. Many clear heads are thicker though, which tends to emphasise the low end. |
