What I mean: can anyone play fast on Yamaha's DTX Bassdrumtriggers? I can play about 120 bpm, but heel down. And I find it very hard to play heel up, because there is only few rebound from it. I bought an acoustic kit again, some weeks ago. I didn't have the time, to play it much, but find it easier to play heel up with it. What do you mean? Am I doing something wrong? What are you playing at 120 BPM's? half note triplets? 9's, patty fla fla's, 16th's? If they are 16th's and you aren't making 120 -better read through some of the BD technique posts here and practice more. Title: Re: Double Bass on a DTX ? If I remember correctly they had a rubbery feel to them...almost kinda hard. I would maybe try adjusting your spring tension on each pedal and maybe going to a couple of soft beaters...but really I would first try to get my throne height optimized and play on the balls of the feet trying to keep the beater off the head, letting the pedal do the work for you. You are right though...they are weird feeling...just play them for awhile and see what happens. Title: Re: Double Bass on a DTX ? Post by: Passeist on March 07, 2002, 08:49 AM I put a few pairs of socks over the tower, to soften the impact a bit, and adjusted the pedal so the beater head comes way back when at rest. That helped a bit.

First, I am playing these for about one and a half year. I think, I'll try some different beaters. I also tried it with the socks, good idea! But unfortunately it did not helped much. I'm also thinking of getting an 'mesh-head' bassdrum. Maybe from a Roland V-Drums. I hope, that will help. Bye Title: Re: Double Bass on a DTX ? A few years ago I heard that Alesis was developing moongel type triggers from a rep that used to come in the store.
I don't know where they are, but I bet a moongel kick trigger would be VERY nice to play. Anyone heard that rumour? Title: Re: Double Bass on a DTX ?
