Title: Drum and Bass Grooves (DNB) Post by: cloughri on June 05, 2003, 11:33 AM Does anyone know if there has been a thread about techno style "Drum and Bass" grooves as it pertains to the drumkit? I did a search and nothing showed up...I'm not sure if I have the lingo correct. Anyways, if not, does anyone have any suggestions on books, internet sites, or general techniques for this style of drumming???

Zach Danzinger is pretty dope as well. Theres a group called KUDU out of New York who has a great drummer not sure what his name is but he slams some hardcore Drum N Bass. Also when you go to JoJo Mayers site watch the NERVE Movie it's too cool.

It's called the Philadelphia Experiment. It's nothing earth shattering, but there are some nice dNb grooves he plays on there. Check out the first track on the album.

It's curious because I've always fancied triying to incorporate breakbeats into my playing, but most of the stuff jojo plays I didn't even know it was humanly possible to play (at least not with such machine-like precision!) I do get the feeling from that clip that DnB could be the new form of improvisational music, like jazz.
