Title: schlagwerk in US? Post by: Fed on October 17, 2003, 08:36 PM I was wondering if anyone knows where Schlagwerk percussion are available in US?
Thanks Title: schlagwerk in US? Post by: Bart Elliott on October 17, 2003, 09:31 PM Here ..... at Salwender International.
http://www.salwender.com (http://www.salwender.com) The president is Uwe Salwender who is a personal aquaintance of mine. I met Uwe several years ago at a PAS convention. In fact, I bought my Schlagwerk Cajongas and shakers from him. He gave me a good deal ... and definitely is a man with some integrity. I highly recommend Salwender International. There are quite a few dealers in various states around the USA. Visit the website and go from there. Title: schlagwerk in US? Post by: Fed on October 18, 2003, 08:18 PM Thanks for the info. I looked at that website but it seemed overpriced compared to prices on schlagwerk website.
Any opinion on FatCongas cajons? Title: schlagwerk in US? Post by: Bart Elliott on October 18, 2003, 10:00 PM Any opinion on FatCongas cajons? A buddy of mine has one ... and I'm not crazy about them, but they are decent. As far as the prices, you need to ask for a better price. Also keep in mind that this is an import. You're not going to be able to buy it from Schlagwerk for the price you see on their website. In my opinion, Schlagwerk makes the best cajons! I have a custom cajon made by a man who also makes taiko drums. If you are interested, I could pass along his info to you. He only makes about 50 cajons a year now ... but they are beautiful and sound great. It all depends on what you are looking for. Title: schlagwerk in US? Post by: Fed on October 19, 2003, 12:19 PM the reason fatCongas cajon is appealing is it has two sides one with snares and one without (or so they say I can't find one in the stores to try). I am not trying to be cheap I am saving for a good one. FatCongas is not cheap and if I can get two in one .. why not?
What kind does your buddy has? Thanks Title: schlagwerk in US? Post by: Bart Elliott on October 19, 2003, 01:26 PM I don't remember exactly which model of FatCongas' cajon he has.
Schlagwerk has cajons which allow you to basically tune the loose panel ... and they have them where you can turn the buzz wires off. Definitely the whole "two in one" thing. Title: Re:schlagwerk in US? Post by: Fed on October 20, 2003, 08:26 AM Bartman
