Hey Random,
Did you get any hand drums yet?
Have you found a teacher in your area yet?

Vids are fine,,  >:(
but I can't stress enough that the human contact is where it's at!

I really hope you find someone, or several someones around there to play with and learn from!  ;)

right now i've got my djembe and a small aluminum kettle drum i made.  i'm saving for a set of congas.  i'd almost bought a tabla set, until i learned how dificult the were.

my teacher is really cool.  he originally taught me guitar, two years ago he started teaching me drumset.  then when i got my djembe he worked with me on that. he's an incredibly flexible teacher and knows alot of instruments.

i play all the time now.  i found that playing in my old treehouse, pretty much a big wooden box attached to a tree and two stilts, is quite an experience.  the bass notes travel through the drum into the floor and the entire treehouse makes the note.
