Or perhaps you'd like to borrow the marching machine I had to make for the Gould piece?

Seriously though, I do have a bunch of gear. Since I play a variety of styles and venues it makes sense to have that versatility.

Hey, does anyone need to borrow the doorbell/buzzer thingy I had to construct for a Spike Jones tribute a couple years ago?

Maybe he and Rick Neilsen should get together.

I actually did this the day after I bought the module and triggers. The sound guy was confused, he had never heard of triggers let alone had a drummer with a triggered bass drum play in that venue. We got it worked out eventually, but like you said... Blip blip.

My next show is coming up at a bigger venue with a decent sound guy that I have worked with before. Should be a blast!

Thanks again for the help bolweevil, you're the man

A drum clinic is a public speaking event, which is somewhat of a learned skill IMO.
For example, a Gregg Bissonette clinic is as more or less a stand up comedy gig with a bit of drumming thrown in. This is an approach that Gregg has honed over many years, all the while adding and subtracting material (both funny and educational).
Another stress factor is the unpredictability. 1) Questions from the crowd, and 2) your ability to play on the day.
For example, I practiced some drum performances over and over before a little clinic tour. I purposely chose fairly simple drum parts and had them perfect at least two or three practice sessions before the first clinic, but I still couldn't play them properly on the night.  Undecided
The spotlight is firmly on you, nowhere to hide.
I would love to do more clinics, but I think the more you do, the more fun it gets.
It's like anything, your first couple of days on the job are always the most nervy.

I have a real peeve about cymbals rattling against each other on my kit.  It's maddening just to look at that set-up.  Aarrrrrgh!

Yes, this is sort of a similar trick (and inside joke) sound crew will play on you.
If you annoy a monitor person then later ask for more of something, they'll twiddle a redundant knob somewhere on the desk, on a channel they aren't using. They'll take great delight as you say "can't hear it, more, more, more. Ok, that's great now".
So I would suggest twiddling the front bass drum head endlessly while asking the bass player to announce when it no longer clashes with his bass.
Small motions of the tension nuts up and down will not effect the pitch much, but may confuse the bass player enough to trip him up.
...
...
Have I put too much thought into this?

Only one kick? C'mon!

Good one!  Grin Grin

Judging by the layout he's very tall with very short arms.

What specifically did you not like?

Personally I enjoy doing clinics and masterclasses. I enjoy the feel of being superior to others!!  LOL!  J/K.

I'm a problem solver by nature.  Clinics are a way for me to share some of my musical problem solving skills with others.  I am far from being the most talent all-around musician out there, but if I can impart a little specicfic knowledge to a few folks, I feel it's been a success.
