give the drummer some!

I made the switch over to REMO on my kit finally. I used to play remo but when I got my Gretsch I went Evans. I've found that Evans really complement higher end kits better, at least thats how it goes with my mid end gretsch
I had no problems fitting the kit with remos but I was hard pressed to try a new bass drum head. I didn't think there would be life after EMAD, but I ended up putting a Clear Powerstroke 3 on. I tightened it down to 70 on my drum dial (well two nodes are 73-75 due to the fact that these aren't the most precise drums  Angry ) Either way its on fairly loose, and jeez this head is amazing. Its just as fat sounding as the EMAD, maybe even a little fatter and i havn't even put a falam patch on it due to the fact that the one that came with it is way too thick for my style.
Anyone else out there have post emad fear? Maybe those heads are a bit overrated. Still rockin the EQ pad against the reso head though. Man I missed Remo

I've been a (coated) Powerstroke 3 convert for about a year now.   No regrets.   Powerstroke 3s are da bomb!

Its a bit dry, maybe i could tighten it a bit more. I couldn't belive the falam that came with it, it was like kevlar haha! I use the felt side of the DW beater, kevelar is a bit mcuh haha. I had a thinner one laying around...but yah i put it on an inch too far to the right...whoops...i can't explain the "elbow grease" required to get the falam off.

Me too. I have one in Ludwig Rocker and is the best head I've had on it. I prefer the coated one to the clear because it helps drying the sound without the need to keep the drumhead too loose and/or using impact patches (as the Falam Slam). Considering to buy one for my new Mapex Pro M too (wearing a clear version currently).

One thing I noticed with my EMAD was after playing or awhile there was this uplesant sound from the foam ring rubbing against the head. If I took out the ring and put it back in it would go away, but some point during playing it starts. I still can't give up the EQ pad, those things are great and now they include that plastic adjustable gate.

agreed...

the EMAD reminds me of a Super Kick I like sound, while the power stroke isnt nearly as low or fat like.

still, i'd rather go w/ the PS head, tho in that kind of muffling, i'd MUCH rather have an Aquarian Force head.  UNREAL how much punch and authority that head can give a good bass.  as of now, its my fav all time bass drum head.
