I've been using a MACbook and imovie HD6 software to record me playing along to drums during covers but it seems to be out of sync every time i try and put them together. what i do is record me just playing to the song and leave that as one track and then i take the mp3 of the song I'm playing and put it on another track and try and match it up with me playing exactly in the same time. but sometimes its not so easy. is there an easier solution? if you cant answer possibly you can tell me where in the forums i can post this question.

 thanksss.

Why not record them both at once?

You posted this twice ... once to me directly in the Q&A. I deleted the second thread, same question, and now you've posted the question again.

Please read my response in the Q&A; I give the reasons why you are having problems:

It won't work. Did you read my post in the Q&A? If not, please do; I took a lot of time to answer your original question.

You have to have an audio adapter for your video camera that would allow you to input line level audio ... bypassing the built-in mic on the camera. If you CAN do this, then you take the pre-recorded audio and play it back via CD or computer. Output this audio to a mixer which you would monitor with headphones. You would have to have at least one or more mics for your drums which you would run to this same mixer. The main output from the mixer would then be sent to the video camera.

This is what I've done, which allows me to make my video lessons and content for the Drummer Cafe.
