-creative fills

-improvisation

-hand speed

-solid groove

-fast/solid right foot (no double pedal)

-left foot

If I ever get to the point that I am satisfied with anything I do I'm going to stop playing. I just always strive to get better. Thats the only strength I think I have.

Art is the expression of the self.

I feel my strength is my ability to communicate, either outloud or through my playing with the other members of a group to ensure the totality of the music, be it a band, a session or a live gig.

The techniques, though they play an important role in the early stage, should not be too restrictive, complex or mechanical. If we cling to them, we will become bound by their limitation.  Any technique, however worthy and desirable, becomes a disease when the mind is obsessed with it.

It's funny that people speak in specifics about their weaknesses, but in abstract terms about their strengths. This is a good thing. It means drummers are always striving to improve and are hesitant to get comfortable with their ability.

Jeez, I guess my biggest strength is in my groove/feel... at least that's what people tell me. My technique is horrendous.

My biggest strength lately is to stop quietly competing with players who kick my butt and to just be the best I can.    I used to have nights where I thought I was king of the world...other nights I thought I had no right calling myself a drummer.  Fortunately, I expressed neither out loud.   Nice to get over it and just enjoy making music while striving to improve my playing without that sense of competition I had with people who weren't competing with me to begin with.

Firstly rhythym, then sound quality.  How you achieve the latter does not matter.

I think my strenghts are:

1) Professionalism

2) versitility, I can play many different styles of music,

2) my ability and willingness to take direction and play what I'm asked to play, and if none given,

3) my ability to play something that makes the music sound good and inspires the other musicians.

My strength is my ability to see my weaknesses. I am pleased with my PROGRESS, but I am not "there" on any particular thing.
