I recently got my hands on Zakk Wylde's Pride & Glory record, and it's slowly becoming an ll time favorite.

The greatest discovery drumming-wise here is Brian Tichy, drummer whom I'd never heard of before. I'm absolutely blown away with his playing, his approach, his great understanding of the music and his awesome, natural drum sound (something I'd thought lost a while ago).

The guy has become an inspiration, he really embodies what to me is great rock n roll drumming.

Anyways, I'd like to hear your thoughts on him, as well as any representative recordings of his playing.

BTW, it turns out the guy is now guitarist/singer in his own outfit, BALL, which is solid.

It's still Rock'n'Roll to me.

I swear , if I remember correctly ,  that he was REO Speedwagon's drummer in the mid-90's when I saw them a couple of times when they came through St. Louis......

I got the Pride & Glory CD when it was first released back in '94 and I thought there was a different drummer on it than Brian Tichy. I saw them play in Boston in November 1994 and Brian was with them - that was the 1st time I had heard of him/seen him and was quite impressed. He played what looked like a 4-piece but probably had a few extra toms on one or both sides and a number of cymbals. He and the rest of the band sounded great!

He also plays on Vinnie Moore's "Out of Nowhere" CD that cam out sometime between '96 and '98.

I'd love to hear him play on some other stuff and maybe find a video of him playing with Pride & Glory.
