What you are wanting is help with Traditional Grip ... not sticking.

There are numerous threads on this topic, but the best way to learn Traditional Grip is to study with a professional drum instructor who specializes in this area of study. Words and pictures, which is about all the forum can offer, is not going to help you as much as a private teacher.

You might want to search the topic via www.Google.com and see if you can find some instructional video clips to peruse.

Check out Dave WecklS (how to develop technique)and Steve Smiths (Drumset technique/History of the u.s. beat)Both go into great detail about traditional grip(even Freddy Gruber steps in on Daves video).

I'm with Bart on this one--Get a teacher.

Videos cannot watch you play and speak back and correct any bad technique that  you might develop.  I real, live teacher is what you need for best results.

Traditional grip has a lot more room for error than matched.

I'm with both Bart and Jon E. I learned traditional grip when I first started out nad played that way for years, then went on to different grips. My teacher was the most important person in my life at the beginning and I went back to him many times during the first few years for advice. I found it difficult to switch grips, but always painless.
