Yesterday at band practice we were working on a new song, and in the middle of it the screw broke that holds the chain onto the footboard. without much thought I started using the left pedal. I was surprised how well I did, it wasnt as great as my right foot, but it did the job.

tell me about similar experiences if there are any.

p.s. i got it fixed, but it just gave me an excuse to buy a new one Cheesy.

I once had the beater slip down on the primary pedal during an up-tempo tune.  I applied your solution and shifted my left foot from hi-hat to the slave bass drum pedal.  It felt pretty weird, but I made it thru the song.

I was once asked to "sit in" on a friends kit for a song or two.  He's a lefty!!  I had to do some quick brain/limb reversal, but stuggled through a couple things.

Now I do a little practice every now and then playing the main BD line with my left foot.

I had just got my axis a longboard double pedal and had not had time to mess with it that much, as such the sonic hammer right hand beater spun round due to not being tight enough and the metal spike went straight through this guys bass drum, so i had to play a 30 minute set of old school metal with just my left foot, probly the worst i've played but pulled it off lol
