Hi,

I use a DW5002TD3 pedal with fairly high spring tension and the DW beaters. At home my kick is tuned fairly loosely but now I'm at university I only have a Pearl BD10 to play on. This little pad had a lot of rebound in comparison to my actual kick drum and as a result practicing has become a lot more difficult. I've lost both speed and control.

Whats the best thing to do? Stick with it and train my legs to manage the extra rebound or loosen my spring tension so that the pad feels like my kick drum? Wear really heavy shoes perhaps? Any suggestions welcome....

Thanks,
Bob

THE CHALLENGE IS TO REDUCE THE BOUNCE WITH OUT CREATING MORE VOLUME. I WOULD TRY TAKING A SQUARE SPONGE AND TAPING IT ON TO THE EXISTING PAD. THIS WILL CREATE MORE OF A  PADDING WITH OUT CREATING MORE VOLUME. THIS IS MY FIRST THOUGHT FOR YOUR ISSUE.
