ive heard some reallyl cool drums breaks in my day. like 16ths split between the hands and feet. i try to do some cool breaks and they suck. any advice? thanx nick
Play slow enough.
By that I mean, slow down the lick you're trying to play until you can play it consistently and correctly - even if it's ridiculously slow. Speed comes with time and repetition, but control comes from precise, targeted practicing.
If you play it fast enough that you mess it up, that's too fast. And repeating it at that tempo won't help - then you'll just be getting more practice at doing it
wrong.
Slow down and be methodical and patient - there's no shortcut.
