I use the palms down technique   (except when I play my ride) I don't alling the drumstick with my forearm and I keep all my fingers on the stick.
What do u guys think?
Do u allign the drumstick with your forearm? Should it be alligned?
Do all your fingers sit on the stick? Should they?

The fingers shouldn't touch the stick at all time...well...it depends on how you play....

For the alignment...it doesn't really matter, for paml down, it's "normal" to be like that, just be confortable when you hold your stick and while playing for long times and everything should be alright.

actually autocrat the fingers SHOULD touch the stick at all times, not the finger tips but you fingers should be in contact at all times so that you have control of the stick. As for allignment this depends...some guys allign it with the forearm (mangini does), so guys don't (weckl, vinnie, morello), both ways work, just be comfortable and use good technique.

How can I know for sure if I am using good technique or not?

does the stick rebound on its own? or are you lifting it? If all that you are doing is using a downward motion and the stick is lifting your hand back up chances are that you are using good technique. Check out Weckl's video (I forget the name something to do with natural evolution) he gives great examples of proper hand position and the moeller stroke. Also on Vic Firth's website Dom Famularo has a series of short videos that go through all the stick positions. Tigerbill.com has some great stuff on it. Above all just play relaxed.
