Yea! Ive made major strides since ive been forced to practice on my pad only,been working alot more my rudiments,increased the speed of my singles and doubles etc....

If it was just a continuous string of dotted eighths in 4/4, yes. But if the context of the original post was a swing pattern, then I think DaveFromTheWindyCity is likely to be more correct.

Hey, do you know why it's called "The Windy City"?

It has nothing to due with the weather.

The phrase was coined in the 1930s.  It referred to all the hot air spewing forth from the politicians then.

I prefer to think of "interdependence" as opposed to "independence." I fear that eventually this leads to a brick wall, but for now, I have not had any problems. When working with tougher combonations of rhythms, I think of the connections between the rhythms, approaching the idea as just one rhythm. In many cases, this reduces something rather complex to a much simpler rhythm. Then, by practicing this- slowly of course- I eventually develop enough comfort with the whole thing that everything feels automatic.
