Is any one using this throne?

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=perc/search/bigpid/base_id/111963/

I sat in one at the Music Store and it seems great from the little time I spent on it. A lot of padding and the backrest is really small yet seemed to have some great support right in the small of my back. I've had some lower back problems and this is important. It sort of pushed into me.

I'm using an older threaded Roc N Soc with a backrest right now. The one thing I don't like about it is that the backrest really makes my lower back sweat. It seems like this Pearl model would really cut that down.

Anyway, I'm think about buying one, but before I drop the cash I'd see if any one has been using it, and if so what do you think?

Thanks!

I use a Roadster throne though mine doesn't have the back rest. I love it, it's a great surdy throne, very comfortable, yet not so squishy to the point where you could fall asleep while playing.  Wink

I was going to get one when I saw the pictures of it from the Winter NAMM 2004 show. Then I saw the price, and decided to go with a Gibraltar instead.

Yeah, it is a pricey bugger. I'm thinking it might be worth it though.

I played with the same old stool for years. When the next morning came my back would hurt from bouncing/rocking on the stool. When I got my new drums I bought a gas Roc N Soc .....Problem solved.  Smiley

If that Pearl is comfortable and helps you maintain proper posture, its worth the money.  I have the Roc-n-Soc with a backrest and my back no longer bugs me after I play.
