Another thing I have seen by the almighty Gadd. I am def going to buy this dvd but for now i will ask. anway i know what a paradiddle is im jus not sure how he is applying it to the snare and the hi hat. Anyone know? its on drummerworld so have a look and thx.
A paradiddle is played thus :
RLRR LRLL
There are variations on this, which Gadd uses to great effect. One variation is :
rllr lrrl which Gadd uses, playing right hand on the hi-hat, left hand on the snare. Accent the first note of each grouping - thus :
Rllr Lrrl etc
and keep the unaccented notes as quiet as possible.
Other paradiddle variations are
RRLR LLRL etc
RLRL LRLR etc
