I really need to protect my ears during rehearsals and gigs, I don't want to go deaf. Know of any equipment (if it's affordable it's even better  Wink) that would reduce the volume coming to your ear but still allow you to hear good what you and the other musicians are playing? I saw some headphones made by Vic Firth (no cord) but I haven't tried them yet. Any suggestions?

Check out this thread, thats how i found out about the er-15's  they're the best things i ever spent money on, i'm tellin ya this is the way to go!
