Mapex Drummer

While at a mini camp for kids 12-15 for drumset, we had a college junior come in and teach jazz for a day. I stayed after to talk to him. He showed me some stuff, and he was just like Buddy Rich. His technique was down to a T and had the chops slightly below Buddy. So my question is this.....Have any of you ever met an Buddy Rich soundalikes? what made them like that?
