Don't think I've ever run across this drummer's name here, but I have to open myself up to more of his work. He's actually a childhood friend of my boyfriend's, but the only stuff I've heard from him is some stuff with Branford Marsalis and a Berklee jam session with him and my boyfriend. [a very scary & intimidating listening experience, all-around, especially knowing they were so young, and being a 1st-year drummer at the time of listening]
Anyhow, from what I can gather he's appearing with his quartet NYCQ in Nottingham, England at the City Centre there. Info is:

According to the NOW listing, "Gene's band plays with far too much heat and energy to be picked up by any major label looking for something smooth."
which probably explains why we don't hear of him too much!;D
