Recently picked up 2 excellent dvd's:

Journey- Live in Houston 1981. Nice to see Steve Smith back in his rock days. Big kit.... big performance. Steve is one of my favorite drummer's of all time. Tasteful and versatile... and old school to boot!  Really nice dvd that comes with the cd as well. Highly recommended to Journey fans.

Next up:  The Police- Synchronicity Concert (Atlanta 1983). Wow. Watching Copeland is quite a treat. I never got to see them live, so this was really eye opening to see Copeland perform live. He is a wild man on the kit! Definitely a drummer with his own signature style, instantly recognizable. Great performance by the group and good sound on the 5.1 mix (same for the Journey release). Another highly recommended  dvd!

Tuesday:   Rush- R30... I'm going to be very busy watching dvd's over Thanksgiving!

The Police DVD is SO on the wishlist. Thanks for the reminder and it's cool to know it's 5.1.

Any cool extras on it?

the extras on the Police dvd include interviews and snippets of their last performance in Australia, and 4 songs with multi camera angles.

My only gripe is that this is what was premiered by MTV back in the day. There are plenty of early "MTV-isms" that make it just bearly watchable. I would be more happy with the raw video of the ENTIRE concert and leave the snazzy 80's video editing for those who give a crap about that stuff. No one here, I suspect.

Still, something to have. The CD of that show is Disc 2 of the "Live!" set released a few years earlier.

Cool, I had both of these on VHS back in the day.  Glad to see they have updated the format.

I found it at Walmart, of all places. I also found the Journey and a Foo Fighters live DVD.  AL 3 were each under $17!!
