Its thinner than the average ghatam.  But that's a good thing for me.   A bit more volume, a bit easier to get a good range of sounds from.    I really dig it.  Sounds just like the samples on those sites.   My udu will now collect dust.    

While this is mostly just me raving about a new toy, I do have a question.   Anyone drilled holes in something ceramic before?    Any tips?    I want to install a lavalier mic hole in it if possible.
