This sounds like a typical leg cramp. If you are having muscles spazing out on you try to drink more fluids, not beer, and eat a banana a day. Low potassium with cause this. I have this problem too but it is usually because I have been perspiring for hours of playing music. Try also to relax a bit. You may be really tensing up!! You may have pulled a muscle
like robyn said. If this is the case, rest it for 6-8 weeks and start eating more bananas.

also, sounds like you have bad technique. might be a good idea to have a proper teacher teach you proper technique.
