. . . I know the pictures are a little dusty, but I didnt realize that till AFTER I uploaded. . .

Actually, the pictures look OK - its the drums that look dusty.  You might want to consider posting links to so many photos.  That way people with dial-up connections won't have birthdays while waiting for your photo album to load.  Smiley

Do I detect a little pitting on the bass drum lug in the top photo?  If your garage is damp, you may want to move your drums.  Given the number of photos you've posted you're obviously very proud of them.  At the very least, try to keep them clean and dry.  They'll last a lot longer.

What does pitting mean? I tried looking at the top pic on the two lugs shown to see if I could see anything wierd, but I couldnt.

And also, im not really sure how damp my garage is, but I do live in south florida, pretty close to the beach, so im sure that doesnt help. As far as where to keep them, its either the garage or my room, and my room is already crouded enough (I used to have them in there, but it was too much so I moved them). Therse a big white fan (you can probly see it in the background) that I try to keep on during the day and night so theres not too big of a day/night temperature shift, but I dont know how good of a job that does

This may be better discussed in a separate thread.  But if you run your fingers along the chrome pieces and the chrome finish feels bumpy - not smooth - they may be pitted.  Also, a fan will not cool the room.  Fans only move the same warm air around.  You feel cooler near a fan because of the air movement against the sweat on your skin.

Hi everyone! Happy New Year!!!

I'm new to the forum so I thought I would post a few pictures of my kit. The pictures are kind of artsy (blurred on purpose). I'll post some clearer pictures later in the week.

My kit is a Mapex Pro M in Transparent Cherry

Drums

10 x 8
12 x  9
14 x 11
16 x 13
22 x 18 kick
14 x 5 1/2 Ludwig Supersensitive snare (late 70s vintage)

Hardware

Mapex 950 Boom stands
Mapex 950 Snare stand
Pearl RH2000 Cable remote Hi-hat
Mapex 750 Hi-hat stand (being replaced by a Pearl H2000 Hi-hat stand at the end of the week)
Pearl Eliminator Double Kick pedal
Roc-N-Soc Nitro Throne

Cymbals

All Saluda

22" Earthworks heavy, dry ride
14" Mist-X ripple bottom hi-hats
14" Emporer-X/Diamond hi-hats
20" Diamond dark china
16" Diamond china
14" Hybrid-X trash crash
16" Mist-X fast crash
18" Mist-X medium crash
20" Mist-X dark crash
8" Emporer-X splash
10" Diamond splash

Heads

Toms - Aquarian Studio X Batter, Aquarian Classic Clears (Black) Reso
Snare - Aquarian Focus X Batter, Remo Hazy Reso
Kick - Evans EMAD 2 Batter, EMAD Reso

Here are some new pictures without all the blur. I've also added some shots of my pedal setup. I upgraded my Mapex 750 hi-hat to a Pearl Eliminator H2000. The stand is awesome.

These are clearer pictures of some of the new Saluda cymbals I just bought.

Did you ever record anything with this setup? If yes, could you share?

Gelebraz, we're recording some original material now. I should be able to post something soon.

Jack, the kits a year old. It' been out to a few gigs, but has spent most of the time in my home. I keep it covered and keep it clean. The snare is a late 70s vintage Ludwig. I'm the original owner and it's in mint condition. The cymbals are brand new Saludas. I love em....

Yay for Saludas! I love my two new Saludas as well. Are those hats, splash and one of those rides from the Emporer or Earthworks line? I love those finishes.

I'm looking to make my entire cymbal set Saludas. The two rides I'm getting will come from the Earthworks line I think. My crashes and hats will be Mist-X (already have one Mist-X crash) and I have a Diamond crash now that I want to add on to.  I want to get a splash but I'm not sure from what line.
