Buying "beginner" sets are kind of a double edged sword. You dump money into a cheap set to make it better. Then if you decide to quit and drumming isn't for you they're hard to get anyone to buy them. If you invest in an intermediate set you can recoup a fair portion of your money back. Or if you decide you "love playing drums" then you can continue to play without feeling you need a new set to get better. I don't know how many times I've seen that cycle of events.... That's a tuff call for new drummers.
