Tour dates here.

Now that would be worth getting out of bed for.

One of the best concerts I've ever attended was in the mid-70's,  Steely Dan with Jeff Porcaro on drums . . .

DANG I wish they would come closer to me than Boston

You think you got problems?? My mind is racing to figure out whether it's easier to see them in Cincinnatti or Tampa... Tongue

yeah, they aren't coming near me, either.

But, my newest band is now gigging - a Steely Dan tribute band!  Check us out at:

There are a few clips but, you can't really hear me playing anything other than tambourine because of the crummy recording setup we had.

Still, cool!

He was wearing his "55 Bar" shirt last night. Cool shirt.

I'm ride till die for carlock, hes incredible, its nice to see him have such an intense style hes made his own. I wish more drummers would adopt their own style so many i see these days are so stiff and boring to watch, i think we'll remember carlock.

I love Steely Dan, I've seen them 3 times and they've blown me away every time.

I'm not so fond of Michael McDonald, however.  His voice does not do it for me.  I always get the impression that he's trying too hard to sound soulful.

Now I'm torn.  The wife and I try to see Steely Dan whenever they're in town and they'll be in town on July 19th.  I don't know if I want to pay so much money for a ticket when I'm only interested in half of the bill.  Sad

DRWM - (IMHO) Mike doesn't make half of Steely Dan's sound - the rest of the band would make up for any lacking you find in his voice.  I wish they'd come closer to New England.

I've seen them a couple of times and they have always put on a tremendous show.

mainedrummer, I don't think Mr. McDonald is playing with Steely Dan, his band is also touring and the 2 bands are sharing the bill.  I may be wrong and if that's the case, I agree with you that he is'nt half of Steely Dan's sound.

I think I read however that there are 2 bands on the bill, Steely Dan and Michael McDonald's band, that's where I was coming from when I said I was only interested in half of the bill.

Oh Yes! Already have tickets for Jones Beach, great place to see a show by the way.
Keith is a killer drummer and a great guy. I met him at the Drummer Festival last year. Did an interview with him. I am trying to get it to Dave Kroph for his podcast.
