hi,

i have been playin a while i have no real trouble with most grooves but one i do is the `train beat` or triples on the hi hat can anyone give me some technique advice to practice for this groove, i play matched american grip

Both are based on the single stroke roll, just with different accents. I think there is a lot already posted on improving single stroke rolls. For the train beat, just think of it as moving a 16th note rock pattern from the high hat to the snare.

But if you want suggestions about variations and feels, I will have to leave that to someone else. I am just beginning to explore them myself.
