Angry Darn it! was laying on the sofa last night reading a magazine, went to get up and when I pushed myself up on a fist my hand slipped and bent over so that the back of my hand was facing down and pressed into the sofa with my weight on it. Hurt like heck!! I spent about 5 minutes with my eyes closed and teeth clenched before the pain eased up. It eventually slackened off, but my wrist  is really throbbing today. Might have to break down and go to the doctor.

I have great timing as usual, as our biggest gig ever is about 2 weeks away!  Undecided Undecided

I just hurt my wrist too, in a freak volleyball accident.  I got it x-rayed a few days ago and it's just sprained and not broken.  I've been playing the drums anyway though, and just icing it a lot before and after.  I've been playing volleyball anyway too, which probably isn't a great idea.  I've also been wearing a stablizer which seems to be helping.  Hope yours feels better before your gig, and that you're not broken!

Katy,
The truth is that a sprain needs rest.  I would not Ice it down before you play.  "Slowly" heat it up.  Ice down really good when you get finished. But if you are going to keep playing, slowly warm it up.  All you are doing is decreasing the swelling before you play. Then you are playing with cold musculs and Joints.  I would try to rest it as much as possible but don't listen to me,
go ask your doctor!!!
