Ok so I want everyone to recommend me some wonderful music for my ears.

This music being world music, with congas, bongo's, djembe, tabla, etc in it. From around the globe, etc.

I want to broaden this part of my musical horizon, so help me out.

Los Munequitos - Vacunao
Francesco Aguebella - Cantos a los Orichas
John Santos - Hacia el Amor

I've got a bunch more,, but that'll get you started on the essentials of Afro-Cuban.

In a Latin vein:

"Hands of Rhythm"  Giovanni Hidalgo

"Vortex"  Eddie Palmieri

and many more...

Hey Windhorse!
Nice to see you around here, too!

Hey everybody, not only is Yoni quite the tumbero, but also a great Darabukka Mid-Eastern player! And Yoni, it's good to see you here too!

So as not to hijack the thread, here's the best place to get a full assortment of Latin Music - descarga.com

Los Hombres Calientes, especially Vol.2 - Cuban, African, Nawleens, Brazilian, jazz (why these guys don't get more press is beyond me)

Cachao, Master Sessions, Vol.1 - muy Cubano, claro que si senor

Viento de Agua Unplugged, Materia Prima - Puerto Rican bombiplena (this will knock yer socks off!)

Giovanni Hidalgo - Hands of Rhythm (estoy de acuerdo, Yonaton!)

Batucada Capoeira - different blocos of Brazilian batucada and capoeira with a nice, almost raw recording ... as it should be!

compilation CD:  Tambours du Monde - on Playasound label (a mix of: Poynesian, Brazilian, African, Indian, Cuban)
