I have played snare in bagpipe bands for a few years now. I listened to your songs and in my opinion you should utilize the bass and snares with the cymbals just for accents. In celtic music they use a Bodhran with a low pitch sound. Since you are a marching band I would have the bass's just keep straight time accenting 1 with some eighth notes at the end of each part. Snares, come up with a part that compliments the melody, use flams, rolls and accents. Listen to some pipebands and how they structure there parts. You can go to this site, old band I played with, click on the listen mp3. http://www.windsorpolicepipeband.com/index.htm
The Gr.2 will be harder stuff then the Gr.3 which is harder then the Gr.4.
Let me know if you need some ideas.

bodhran seems more than apropos, but if you don't have a player, its not something that can be picked up overnight.
