I think it looks pretty ugly, actually... doesn't seem very comfortable either, but that's just me.

I couldn't let this go and you guys can correct me if I am wrong but would a 32" bass drum actually be 10" taller than a 22" bass drum since that is a diameter dimension. The height difference would be less than 10". In fact, I think it would be 5". Somebody help me out and confirm that please.

The drum is on its side, so all of the additional diameter (ten inches) should contribute to the height of the drum.

Shown in millimeters rather than inches, so it can fit onto the page, but here's a 22mm circle and a 32mm circle:

Difference in height:  10mm.

Thank you James. I just realized I was confusing diameter with circumference. It has been too many years since I have studied math in school.

One reason why I prepared the graphics:  to make sure that I wasn't screwing up the math.  Wink

I did pretty well in math but I'll leave it to Professor Walker to determine the drum sizes.  How could I possibly beat his graphics?

I know I'm getting old because I'm just really sick to death of the "skull and cross bones" motif.

Hmmm. . .  maybe if he went with two ports and placed them over the eyes of the skull?

Im well versed with 26" drums-and that one is def. Waaaaaay bigger.  At least 30", maybe 32".  The last time I saw Tommy Lee, he was using a 32" and this is about that size.  It appears that everything is too far away-and this cat doesnt seem to have arms long enough to warrant the cyms being so far away and it makes me wonder if this pic was staged for a photo session.  But I dont doubt that this is the setup he plays.

And Ill take my f.toms to my right, thank you very much.   Id would love to play this kit though!  And I dig the funkyness to it-it reeks vintage for sure and I love that.  Someone mentioned its remeniscent of the Romantics setup.  Good catch-I used to see the Romantics frequently in L.A. at the Starwood back in the day.  And that drummer did play a kit somewhat similar sizewise to this one-then got a god-awful PINK kit!  But it worked-Hay, its the Romantics Grin

I've sent a friends request to the guy - if he writes back, I'll ask him how big that thing is.

In a move that takes poll watchers by surprise, Mr. Acrolite leap-frogs to first place in the Double Entendre Of The Year contest.

Interesting look.  Humongo bass drum!  Everything looks like it might be a little hard to reach!  I like the cowbell front and center!

And is that David Spade with bed hair?

The only way to play those crashes would be to throw a stick at them.

Sorry guys, I don't get it.  Seems even dangerous - if I tried to do a roll around the pieces, it might end up looking like an old SNL skit with Chevy Chase falling all over himself:)

ooooo, that guy so jacked my style. I had a very similar set up in the show your drum forum. Of course, people said it was too hard to reach things there too, but you'd be suprised how easily they're reached.
