When did Thursday night football start?

I thought it was great when it was Sunday, with one game on Monday.
UK football (soccer) used to be 3pm Saturdays only. Now it's practically every night of the week and I think a lot of the excitement and anticipation has been lost.

Didn't they call it the Thursday Edition of Monday Night Football?  Sometimes I don't understand marketing...

The NFL Network (which virtually NOBODY has!!) started showing Thursday night games  couple of years ago.

Fortunately, the NFL network has woken up a bit and allowed the broadcast of some games on other networks.
For a moment, I was nervous that we were blocked out of this last game in NY, which would have been criminal.

In the past, we have missed some big games due to NFL network greed.

It's very enjoyable - if only for a few moments Smiley - to have both the Giants and Jets in first place now.
Suh-weet.

Bring on the

A few years back I would have objected..."Hey, not before the Bay Area Bowl"... but now considering the uber-pathetic 9ers and Raiders you better take your shot while you can....

Bring on the

New York Subway Superbowl

Being a Cowboys fan, I just can't root for that. The Giants, however, are the only team in the division that I actually like. They will never come before the Cowboys but I don't dislike seeing them do well like I do with the other 2 teams.

My hope isn't real high, but the Cowboys aren't out yet. The Giants came out of nowhere last season, well, sort of.

Being from Wisconsin, I have mixed feelings about the Jets.

Wisconsin's statewide man-crush on Favre has been through a lot of confusing moments in the last six months or so.

It's like Jerry Seinfeld said, "Do sports fans cheer for the players or for the uniforms?"  I can only answer with "both", so now I cheer for the Packers and the Jets.  It would cool to see them meet in the Superbowl, but if that happened I think both ESPN and Wisconsin sports radio would suffer a cranial explosion to rival those in the movie Scanners.    Shocked

Oh mercy! I don't think we could handle that at all. It was nonstop during the Favre drama earlier this year. I would probably just have to hide my tv for about a month until it was all over.
