wow, very interesting, eardrum. i'm not surprised kaiser doesn't get involved with the vitamin therapy, though. imagine if we actually went with a preventive approach. every pharma company would be out of business in a year [and i'd be completely out of a job. yikes!]
the drug i was working on is called frova. it has a slower onset of action, so seems helpful in preventing these menstrual migraines. i'm with your friend in that it makes sense to modify diet, eliminate trigger foods and try other modalities before relying on a prescription drug. but for some people, it might not be enough. interestingly, serena williams was the spokeswoman for this drug. apparently she gets mm really bad, but takes the stuff regularly and is able to go about her insane tennis regimen/competition as a result.
