Indeed he is.

Some sort of rift between the trio and Mr. Cornell.

Chris has his solo thing, but I wouldn't mind if Mr. Cameron took a wee break and Soundgarden somehow reformed and pulled off something crazy and unexpected. Mmm, yes.

i wonder what's up with cornell. he seems to be downright crazy lately. i say shut up and play yer guitar.

i'm not sure if it was in this forum, but someone made a rather astute comment reference chris's songwriting skills [or the diminishing nature of them] that rang true. even though i love the guy, something's amiss. he seems a bit tempermental and all over the map.

who would make a good cornell replacement for soundgarden? tom jones?

i'm there.

If only he were crazy. That would make great Soundgarden material.

His songwriting (have not investigated the last solo album much) is definetely different then from his era worshipped by me (the garden's "Superunknown", love it love it love it). Lyrics are completely different (I read an article which stated that Audioslave's last album, "Revelations", was his first done entirely sober. Maybe it wouldn't be completely unreasonable, due to how "funky" the 3rd album is compared to 1st and 2nd, that it was also the one on which Cornell has least creative impact/control.
While I think he has clearly passed his peak(his voice from 12 years ago is my favorite in recent rock), he from my view has earned the right to musically create whatever he wishes.

Cornell chose his way of singing the Bond theme after the theme by Mr. Jones, so I'm sort of scared by what you said Tongue

well then he should start drinking again. quick. none of their stuff is resonating with me.

right on, man. tom jones could show most any rock singer how it's really done.

i'm with ya, though. superunknown rulez. badmotorfinger, too. i like some of the older, more raw stuff, too. but they really made an impact with those 2.

and i'm kiddin' about the drinkin', lest someone think i'm an enabler.

here, hold this gin 'n tonic; my dad's comin'.

I love what Chris did on the "Temple of the Dog" album.     All of the band on that album kicked.

On that note, what little I heard of Euphoria Morning was good stuff.

On RATM, I'd give an arm to watch them live. They're that @$%# good in my book.

Right on!  I don't see what people see in Soundgarden, but MAN....RAGE IS BACK!  I heard rumors that they may just be "testing" it...for a possible permanent reunion...which would be SOOOOOOO AMAZING!  More Rage cds, and getting to see them live...would be amazing.  I could finally die happy, hahaha.
