Chris, are you still playing with World Party?

I know Keith Carlock is playing that portion of the tour. That would be great to get blog of your conversations with Carlock. That is, if you can understand a word he says with his Mississippi mud accent. Wink

Do you have enough sofas in that new place of yours to put up a 10-piece band?

Thanks, but to my mind it's a different skill set.
I'm still trying to perfect my Purdie shuffle. Unless I had that down I wouldn't even attend a Dan audition (if that opportunity would ever arise).  Wink

Yes....sort of.....in that the World Party don't currently exist, but will presumably arise like a phoenix in time for September.
Look, it's nearly 5 months away so anything could happen.  Undecided
I've been asked if I want to do it and I've replied positively.

Chris,
Sounds great.  Good luck with the "World Party" gig.  If you have everyone over to you farm, post a picture!

The waiting game sucks. Unless you said something positive about Robbie Williams' "Angels," I can't imagine them not asking you to tour your own country. They've already punished you by forcing you to tour America, where a bloke can't even get a decent cup of tea. Now you should get the reward! Wink

Very funny.  Smiley

I'm a coffee drinker anyway......and generally a fan of American food, especially now you've got so many of those Wholefood markets.

One of the shows is literally ten minutes from my new house. I had never thought to invite The Dan over. I'd be scared trying to entertain/feed Becker and Fagen, they seem hard to please.
Mr K Carlock? That might be another story.
I'll definitely have the WP gang round.
It's one of those typical Aus tours though. Weird Al just did a similar one. No days off and lots of big distances between shows!

Not to drag out this thread unnecessarily, but I'd be terrified of having Becker/Fagen over to my house. I'd be afraid of ending up in one of their songs, as some inside joke between the two. And I would never know it ... but I might ponder the lyrics of X new song. Something like this ...

In case you're wondering it's alive and well
That little habit that you left with me
Here in the suburbs where it's hard to tell
If I got the bear or if the bear got me
How did you know that it would take me down
Down to the bottom of the wine dark sea
Where you were waiting there to bring me 'round
Where you knew all the dopest cuts to be

Drowned at the bottom of your mystery
Down in the bottom of the wine dark sea

Chris,I have met Keith a couple of times, interviewed him for another internet site. He is a cool guy to talk to. I didnt have trouble with his accent. But I`m southern bred also, New Yorker by choice.
Do you guys have grits over there? He likes grits.
If you want to have a little fun with him,ask him if he has ever locked his keys in his car.
ps, the Talkhouse has a good soundman now, just in case you guys play there again.
I hope you do.

Very cool.
