i was unable to locate Stick Control (i had it at one point...20 years ago or so but lost it due to not paying attention to it in favor of playing with my band). i DID however, manage to find 'developing dexterity for snare drum'. it appears to be similar (has the r and the l under most of the exercises) and seems to be a variation of the same (or at least similar) material. (based on a couple of screens i have seen of stick control). i have a question that i SHOULD know the answer to. (played snare in the school band in jr. high). on a couple of the pages it says 'these exercises should be done first with an open roll and then with a closed roll. then alternate between open and closed'. ummm...could someone define these for me? im not sure i know the difference. (as i said...been 20 years).

on a side note...i am discovering that while it takes awhile to figure it out, i can STILL read music. Wink

Open roll = double strokes
Closed roll = buzz or pressed roll

Hang on to that book! It is no longer in print; it's self-published by Mitchell Peters.

Excellent, excellent book; definitely my favorite ... more than Stick Control or Syncopation.

As Bart said, this book is out of print.  After much searching on the internet, I found it in stock at Steve Weiss Music.
