howdy Bart,
first off want to than you for a wonderful form, enjoy reading the responses to diferent questions. I am interested in getting the magazine.

the other question is a little different, a good friend of my daughter [ who is 9 ] started playing drums about a year ago. but due to work and distance i only get over there or them here 2 to 3 times a year. she has a great sense of timing. unfortunately they can't give her private lessons, though she is in band at school. when i due see them she always wants me to teach her different things that she see's me play. i have given her several of my old books that i had when i was  learning 40 somthing years ago. can you recomend internet or dvd's that would be good for someone just starting out. since i am old school in my thinking i do not want to teach something that is opposite of what is taught now. thanks  trigermortise

Welcome to the Drummer Cafe!

FYI ... there is no "magazine" ... this site is considered an online magazine only; no paper periodical provided.

There is a wealth of information here at the Drummer Cafe, although it would take an adult to sift through it all and help the young beginner. Also visit www.VicFirth.com and www.PAS.org.

I've got a lot of articles, lessons and free downloads here at the Drummer Cafe ... located in the Education section of the site. New materials are being added weekly!

I do have a magazine with supplemental 2-hour DVD called "How To Play Drums" ... if you are interested in that contact me and I'll see what we can do to get this to her. Perhaps you could consider purchasing a VIP membership for her. If you do that, I'll send her a Drummer Cafe T-shirt and throw in the "How To Play Drums" package for free!
