Smoggs - sounds like you're real happy with the Macbook, but that's odd about the salesguy pointing out performance differences between the two - since the Macbook and the iMac are almost the exact same machine functionally (except of course for their form factor)...
yah. i think what he was really trying to show me was the 'sameness' of the two. for some reason, i had this belief that the imac was more powerful. but once he showed me what the macbook did, and the more i thought about my overall lifestyle, the more the macbook appealed to me. it's so nice not being tethered to my desk. i love sitting on the roof of my building and doing my surfing there. net-net: i bought ease and freedom.
i've gotten used to the monitor, too. the keyboard, not so much, but i did buy a wireless keyboard and mouse for when i have to write over a long period of time. nonetheless, i appreciate that little set-up scenario you described.
it's funny. even though [or maybe because] i'm the antithesis of geek, i really love mac/apple, as a company and a provider of cool products. i think they're innovative and progressive [or at least, that's what all their great advertising and product roll-outs have led me to believe over the years]!
mac rules! [and so do some pcs, as bart well pointed out
