Today I just recently got my new set of congas in the mail.
http://www.x8drums.com/Toca-Players-Series-Conga-Set-p/2800-tn.htmJust check out that link and you can see what they are. I really love them, personally, and think they are an awesome set. I have played djembe for about a year now and jazz drumset for about 2. I can create some rhythms and stuff, but I dont think I know the full potential of them. By full potential, I mean the full range of sounds. This is pretty much what I know, I'll describe the hits the best I can.
The basic hit in the center of the head with your fingers that produces the most "tone/note" of a sound.
I also have figured out the hit that kind of sounds like a rim hit on the drumset. I do this by muting the drum and slapping the rim of it.
I guess there is few miscellaneous other sounds that I dont think they are really of any importance/are barely different from the other sounds.
I also just slap the rim of the drum, open, and that is another one too.
Can someone direct me to some sites that help out beginners at the congas, getting the basic sounds the drums. Also, if someone could just tell me some basic hits to get me along, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks alot to anyone responds,
Aaron
