I've got two really cool shows this week in the Chicago area...
First on Thursday, Nov 29th, we'll be appearing at:
Reggie's Music Joint 2105 S. State Street Chicago, IL
I'm really excited about playing for the "downtown" crowd! We made a guest appearance here a couple of weeks ago, only doing 3 songs and the people there were very gracious! The food there is great and it's an awesome new Southside venue. I know it's a school night.....lol
Then on Saturday Dec 1st, it's back to one of my favorite places to play, but on a VERY special night.
Clearwater Theater 96 W Main Street W. Dundee, IL
We'll be opening for guitar great, Chris Duarte with The Chris Duarte Group!!!!! This is sure to be a GREAT show. If you love blazing guitar licks and great music you won't want to miss this show. Dan Koby, my guitarist, and Chris Duarte will blow you away!! I promise...

Folks, take it from someone seeing all the gig notices posted elsewhere: this young lady is Working. Her band seems to be taking flight - lots of gigs are happening. It might sound corny, Hannah, but NY Uncle Frank is - proud of you. It's really cool watching all this unfold. Keep plowing ahead. DCers - next step is for Hannah to take a tour nationally - then we can All catch a show.

Chris plays locally regularly. He use to play the Blues Cellar no longer open but still plays the Ickey Nickel now and then. Give him a hello from my bud John Bolin and the folks at the Ickey Nickel.

Hey Paicey, Just got in from my gig with Chris Duarte...HOLY COW what an incredible guitar player! Anyways he really did light up when I mentioned the Ickey Nickel. He said he really loves to play there and the John looks just like Tommy. Says he is hoping to get back to the Ickey Nickel some time in the summer. Chris was so nice to me. He spent extra time with me after the show with some advice about my band and some inspiring words about my future. I think I've made a new friend! Hannah Hannah

LOL You made a great friend there! Chris Duarte is Eddy Van Halen's HERO! I told ya that man can play! His band is awesome too! You keep hanging out, making friends, learning from and doing shows with folks like that Miss Hannah and the next thing you know, you'll be the one headlining! You know when I saw Chris live that one time, I could kind of tell he was an alright dude just from watching him at sound check and with his fans after the show. I'm glad my first impression about him was right. YOU GO GIRL!

I'm glad my first impression about him was right. YOU GO GIRL! I can see why he'd be any guitar player's hero! It's just hard to explain the way he played and with so much passion. Very inspiring! To be that great at your art and still remain humble is such a great quality in my book. One I plan on never taking for granted. When Chris arrived Dad and I were already there. After we all met and chatted for a second my Dad asked Chris if they needed a hand with anything. Chris told him, "Heck no...that's what "I" get paid for, besides it keeps me humble." He was so sincere and down to earth. When we started bringing all of my gear in he was helping us place it on stage and just being super nice. I'll never forget watching him perform and how great he was, but the biggest impression Chris Duarte made on me was not Chris Duarte the performer but Chris Duarte the person. The journey continues.... Hannah

Hannah, glad you enjoyed the Chrismeister and thanks for giving him the hello. There was a time when i thought things were really going to break for Chris. Ive seen him with a couple different drummers so im not sure who was in the drivers seat when you saw him. Keep rockin girl.

It's hard to imagine why someone that plays like he does isn't a household name. Currently Joesph Patrick Moore is playing bass and Jeff Reilly is playing drums. Both of them as nice to me as Chris was. Chris spent some time with me after the show and has written me a number of times since. We've had some great conversations about both the business side and music side of the business. He's another great addition to the awesome circle of friends I've managed to surround myself with so far. Hannah

I seem to have WAY to many Uncles right now to prevent things from getting out of hand...lol Besides, I have a good feel for who's sincere and who's not. What you say is kind of funny on one hand, but unfortunately it's another reality for female players. It would be great if there were an even playing field. I guess realizing there's not on the front side gives me some advantage. Dad and I discuss it a lot. He's at every gig (right now) and although I know he's always watching, he's really good about giving me enough room to see for myself what's going on. Every day I learn. I'll be fine...don't you worry! Hannah
