Is it the same thing as a Hedge Apple? 

I believe in some areas itis called a hedge apple.  It has a fruit about the size of a grapefruit and is very hard and has tiny bumps all over.

Yea, from your discription, if it is green, we call that Hedge Apple here in Kentucky and it is great wood for furniture on just about anything.

Yea, from your discription, if it is green, we call that Hedge Apple here in Kentucky

If you look in the big box of Crayola Crayons it is the "Electric Lime" color or if you were lucky enough to have a 2004 Limited Edition box it is "Las Vegas Lights" but for us country boys it is a funny light green color.   Grin
