That Pearl ref. kit is way too new and shiny.  Me no like new and shiny powder puff foo foo drums.   Wink

So that's the monkey pod block snare huh?  Sa-wheat.  They had monkey pod trees in hawaii when I was on my honeymoon.

I listend to a recording I did with your tempus fiberglass snare last Friday.  Those are very unique sounding drums.

I cased up the F1K's this morning and they are cocked and loaded for killing bear  Grin  *I just hope they don't fall apart*  JK

HAHAHAHAHA, Well, after spending what I did on them, I fight back the powers of grime and dullness with an iron fist......ok, so it's a swiffer duster, some polish, and lots of patience, but the other sounds cooler. lol

To Felix: When I saw the pics for your kit, it immediately took me back to my high school pep band days. My school had an old old set of Pearl Exports that looked almost identical to your set-up.  Grin

yep, my fk1 tom mounting hardware is old export/forum stuff.  the tom hardware is different as are the shell.

I had a blast on this thing last night and it set up great and sounded killer.  I'm still getting used to it though (threw a few more clams than usual)  Angry Cheesy

I'm seriously debating on taking my set-up back to individual stands and selling the rack. I've been working with it for about 9 months now and I just can't myself comfortable with it. I've moved and repositioned just about every way possible with what I currently have and still nothing feels right.

The one thing I truly like about having the rack is being able to leave it set-up when hauling it in my trailor. Makes things so much easier going from gig to gig when you're already half way set-up from the get go. But I don't think that's going to be enough reason for me to keep it anymore.

Oh, what the hell...here are a few lousy pictures of my Keller-shell kit from a show I'm playing this weekend - I thought I'd take the 8" tom out for its maiden voyage:

"It's Lightweight Stand Night tonight at the Brookfield Theatre!"  Wink

(What a great camera, huh?  It can't pick up the figuring in the wood, but it can show dust that isn't visible to the naked eye...)   Roll Eyes
Nice drum kit James.  I love that color. The snare looks GREAT TOO!!
