I was wondering if a $30 mini digital "voice" recorder would work OK for recording practice. Of course the speaker is tiny, but it comes with a USB cable to download to the computer, (which has a pretty good sound system on it). I just want to listen and then probably erase it immediately and I want the process to be simple. Am I missing something on this being a "voice" recorder that would make it not work for this application? It will hold 26 hours and is sound activated.
Why not? You probably won't get the full dynamic range and perhaps quality of a more expensive recorder. But if all you want to do is give a quick listen for feel, tempo, form, obvious errors - then sure, it should work just fine.
